Pricing

In Australian dollars, on this page, where you can read them. Most of this category hides its prices behind a demo booking, which is not modesty — it is how per-check pricing avoids being compared.

The number worth checking

Reference checking is normally sold per check: around $15 to $35 each in Australia. So the honest test of whether a subscription saves you money is simple, and here it is rather than buried:

A flat plan wins above about ten references per person per month.

Every plan below lands within a reference of that line. A recruitment consultant passes it without trying. A small in-house team that hires twice a quarter does not — and if that is you, we would rather say so here than sell you a subscription you will resent. Talk to us anyway; there is usually a sensible answer.

Every plan includes a named login for each person. That is not an upsell — the audit trail is only worth anything if the name against a report belongs to one person, and a shared login makes it worth nothing.

White label — $200 a month, on any plan

No CheckedWell mark on the report, per-client branding, and the referee form under your name rather than ours. It is an add-on rather than a tier because a three-person corporate that wants unbranded reports should not have to buy ten seats to get them.

What “unlimited” means, in a number

Unlimited that cannot be quantified is either a lie or an invitation, so here is the figure: 40 references per person per month on Team, Business and Corporate — and 80 on Temp agency, because that is the job. Averaged over a quarter.

That is two a working day each, or four on a temp desk. Nobody doing the job reaches it, and a busy month is never a problem because it averages. If you go past it we will ring you, and the conversation will be about what you are doing rather than about money.

Questions people actually ask

Is there a per-reference charge?
No. A reference costs the same whether you send one a month or forty, because a pricing model that makes you hesitate before checking someone properly is working against the point of the product.
Why is there no free plan?
Every reference costs us an email, a render and storage. A plan priced at nothing either degrades for the people paying or quietly becomes a plan we resent, and neither is a good way to start. Fourteen days is enough to find out whether this works for you.
We only run a few references a month. Is this for us?
Probably not on price alone — under about ten a month per person you are better off paying per check, and we would rather tell you that than take the subscription. Buy this for a consistent process, your brand on the form and a record you can defend, not to save money at low volume.
Why is Temp agency cheaper per seat?
Because a temp desk buys volume, not seats. Ten consultants running a hundred checks each would pay about fifteen thousand dollars a month on per-check pricing. A thousand is a fair price for that, and it is still a good business for us.
What happens at the end of the trial?
Nothing is deleted and nothing is charged without you choosing a plan. References already collected stay readable.
Why do extra consultants cost more?
Because a reference is raised by a person and read by a person, and the record has to say which one. Seats are how that stays true rather than four people sharing one login.
Do referees pay, or sign up?
No. They click a link, answer, and are done. They are never asked to create an account, and nothing is sold to them afterwards.
Where does the data live?
Sydney. Database, files, backups. The security page names the two things that do cross a border, and why.
Can I get my data out?
Yes, on every plan, without asking. Export is a button in settings, not a support ticket.
Do you do police checks or right-to-work?
Not yet. This does one thing — the reference itself — and does it properly. If you need identity and criminal-record checks today, use a screening provider alongside.
