Employment
Their job title while working with you
Registered Nurse — Theatre
Employment dates
February 2022 to January 2026
Please outline their role and responsibilities:
Scrub and scout across general, orthopaedic and vascular lists, and second on call for emergencies one week in four. She took the orthopaedic lists more often than anyone else on the roster, which is the harder end of our case mix.
What was their reason for leaving, or for seeking a new role?
She resigned to move closer to family in Sydney. We would have kept her.

Your assessment
What are their main strengths?
Anticipation. She sets up for the step after the one the surgeon is on, which is the difference between a list that runs to time and one that does not. She is also the person the newer scrub nurses ask, and she answers without making them feel small about having asked.
Where would they most benefit from support or development?
She is quicker to take a problem on herself than to hand it to someone. That is a strength most days and a limit on a bad one, and she knows it — we talked about it at her last review and she has been better since.
